Wednesday Fun #45 - Road Trip Rations

We're about to head back to MN for the second time in about 5 weeks. As "Packer of the Car" and "Overpacker Extraordinaire," it's my job to make sure we've got snacks for the trip. 'Cuz I'm not sure which is better for quieting restless little travelers - the portable DVD player or food.

Not that I snack in the car at all. Oh no. Not me....
*wildly failing the lie detector test*

Either way, this has led me to our Wednesday Fun question for this week...

What's your favorite long road trip snack(s)?

Red licorice- specifically Twizzlers, the big bag. I don't know why, but this is a road trip must for me. For long road trip vacations I always bring special K bars or rice crispy bars. (special k bars are not recommended for summer, since the chocolate-y goodness will melt.)
When we were kids and on a family trip in the car my Dad would get us those mini donuts and pop from a convenience store for BREAKFAST. Drove my mom crazy, but my dad knows how to party. :)

Jerky. Yummy, yummy jerky. And Old Dutch pretzel rods. Plenty of jerky and rods and a couple liters of water and I'm good to go transcontinental.

Hard to say. For camping I like gorp (nuts, M&Ms, raisins, etc). For road trips maybe a bag of Old Dutch pop corn, a small bag of Nibs, and pop.
