Wednesday Fun #38 - Counter Space

I don't care how big your kitchen is, or how many square feet of counter space you've got, there's always the trade-off between leaving things out so they're handy, or putting them away so you can use your counters. What appliances and tools are out? Do you have your flour, etc. out in pretty countainers? A crock of utensils? A big ol' mixer? This week, I want to know...

What rates permanent counter space in your kitchen?

Small appliances: microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, stand mixer

Other: big mug o' wooden spoons, fruit bowl, flour & sugar cannisters, knife block

Fortunately the microwave then creates its own "counter space" for salt, pepper, hot sauces, oils, vinegars, napkin holder, etc. But that doesn't count, because the actual counter space is already accounted for.

Oh, and for the record? One of the "just a little" answers on this week's quiz in no way applies to real butter.

Left to right: Knife block, can opener, coffee maker, toaster, Crocks for Flour, Sugar & coffee, recipe box & banana hanger. Oh and the 2nd microwave since the first microwave that is over the stove isn't vented correctly and so we don't use it. (we've really gotta fix that!)

Ditto Pusher about the "just a little" & real butter. If it's real butter, I am going to need a lot more.

on the butter/popcorn front: If you really like home made popcorn but don't like all the oil, get a WhirlyPop. They totally rock!
